Hey /tv/, what's your opinion of the original Clone Wars series? I remember it being incredible, though that was years ago so I have to wonder if it was just nostalgia.

Also, anyone know of a good place to download the series?

It's pretty good, the problem is that you have to accept all the other shit from the prequels, which is more or less back story, as canon. Genndy is a genius. The cgi series is OKAY but every time it nearly gets good it crams in shit like Pantora. Pic related: It's someone from Pantora who in no way looks like the people from Pandora.

I might be mistaken, but I think the 2003 Clone Wars actually featured the Pantorans before Avatar came out.

Does he? I heard about him and he actually did seem interesting. The non-jedi characters who can hold their own against the Jedi are always the best. I hear the overall series is a huge pile of shit though.

Season 1 is pretty much a Jedi wankfest. In Season 2, the Separatists start bringing the pain as well as other independant players. There are some weak episodes in Seasons 2 and 3, but they're mitigated by some amazingly good ones, too.

I'll probably have to check that out next then. Considering The Clone Wars shits all over canon anyway, it won't matter if I skip season one right?

In the meantime.. Still searching for a good download source for the 2003 series. I love Tartakovsky's work so I would love to get my hands on a DVD rip of this series or something similar.
