when it comes to Movies and Television, the UK is the best producer of entertainment in the world. definitely no quantity, but the quality of the average UK film is fantastic whilst the average American film is, well, feel good propaganda and lowest common denominator crap

that is not to suggest that their are not bad UK films or good USA films, Fat Slags or Thunderpants for bad UK and Shoot em up or Borne Trilogy for good American (even though one of them had a UK actor). but i think that the LACK of funding for films in the UK and the general culture of doing the best job you can means that only the good films get made and released in the UK, whilst the US has a very profit oriented Hollywood culture so they are after a good investment profit ratio as opposed to making something "good", and much of the money is in pandering to the bottom 80%, their uneducated public.

Thus, the UK makes better movies, but the US makes more movies and more profitable movies
