Am I missing something here?

How is this show any good? I watched the first two episodes and they were boring as fuck. This is BARELY even fantasy. They only mention mythical monsters occasionally and apparently they dont' even exist. It's like they took Lord of the Rings and took all the cool shit out and made it into some shitty drama.

Seriously why couldn't they have made a LOTR live action show instead or better yet a straight up Dungeons & Dragons show with monsters straight out of the monster manuals.
