I had travelled to Louisiana to inspect an old Plantation home I had inherited from a distant family member and once in town, decided to stop at town's one restaurant "Taylor's Bar & Grill" As I walked in, I immediately saw Taylor Momsen polishing the bar, though in the dream I didn't know her as Taylor Momsen.
The sign said "Seat Yourself" so I did and a moment later she came buy with some corn chips and a menu. I asker her what she recommended and she said her Gumbo couldn't be beat, that she used a unique local variety of Crawfish to make it and that I owed myself to try it out at least once. She was very charming and I ordered the gumbo.
It was still early in the day and the place was nearly empty, so once she came back with the gumbo we started talking about the area and why I was here. The gumbo was very good - amazing actually. I also learned quite a bit about my relative who was something of a character around these parts. Apparently he had been trying to communicate with the crayfish for years and was convinced they had a civilization on par with ours. We laughed and I admit, I was developing a bit of a crush on Taylor at this point. I finished my food, paid the tab and left a sizable tip for my lovely hostess before continuing on my way to my family's ancestral home.
The home was huge and beautiful, but not very well maintained. It would need some work before I could sell it for what it was worth, but it was right on the water so it had a lot of appeal. I used the key I'd been given and went inside. That my relative's sanity had left him was immediately apparent.
