Actually, the writers "cover it up" by stating thatRiver has always known that Amy was her mother, ever since they first met on the Byzantium - she just couldn't tell her. At the end of episode 13, River from later in her timeline, having just climbed out of the Byzantium, meets Amy and tells her how hard it was not to reveal the truth.

This is the retarded theory. If they were gonna film alternate scenes (which they really can't afford to do anyway), they'd film alternate versions of the reveal in episode 7. This is a one-off, random scene in episode 13, and River repeatedly calls Amymother.

It's not a significant enough scene to do an alternate version of. Maybe you should deal with the truth.

You can't use River's death as proof of her not being a time lord, what killed her would have killed the doctor too.

You can use nobody even considering her a time lord in any sense, and that The Doctor can instantly tell who is a time lord and not thinking she is one though.
