>>20829574It was brilliant, whereas the part in Devon frustrated me (fucking goose, not to mention the terrible attempt at dialect/accent), the part with the girl was also slightly jarring, it seemed to turn into an entirely different film but I let it slide since it did provide a more sentimental moment at the end. I hear that in the play, possibly the book, it was a german officer who handed over the horse at the end... I think I would have preferred that.
I don't know why I'm talking about it here. It was just a frustrating film for me because some of it was truly great but it seemed to be held back by the source material, or something.
