If memory serves, Akko doesn't deny being attracted to men when Mari gets worried about her going to a different college. Then again, despite hanging out with Sugi and crew, she's apparently never had a (serious) boyfriend. She also enjoys making out with Sugi and Tamamin but appears to consider herself straight, at least until she gets on with the soul searching. I'd go with bisexual, with a preference for men or a serious case of denial.

Mari says she doesn't know if she's a lesbian in chapter 21, and freaks out when Harada kisses her. If we want to dig deeper, she says that she finds Tamamin cuter than Akko in chapter 9, and that she couldn't kiss her because Akko was watching, instead of simply not wanting to do it. I'll assume Mari's a lesbian, even if there isn't all that much evidence.

I know a lot of lesbian who didn't even consider being able to love a girl before they met the first girl they have a crush on.

If we look, Akko never had a "serious" crush on any boy during the manga (or, Morinaga didn't said it). It might be possible that she realized her homosexuality (not bisexuality) when Mari confessed to her. She assumed before that she loved boys just because she never met the good girl and never thought about homosexuality.

Then again, like >>977552 said, if Morinaga didn't talked about their sexual orientation, it's that it doesn't matter. The only important thing is that they love each other :)

According to the question, they never stated if they were bi or not, the only thing we ever knew is that they loved each other so i'm pretty sure they are "I don't love a girl, I love Akko/Mari"

Actual CP is already rated 18+, thus wouldn't be affected even if it was included in the bill. most other content is not restricted though, so the bill does indeed introduce a double standard.

What I think will happen, is that while Ishihara is in power he'll use the new law to screw the anime/manga industry but when he gets replaced the new governor will quietly stop enforcing it.

In the meantime it would be nice to see the industry making a concerted effort to move to a different city. If anything can pressure them to repeal this law it would be seeing all that commerce move elsewhere.

Would put the final nail in the coffin of Akiba District though, which is already a shadow of it's former self.

The only one I can read ohter than Mari, Akko, Tamamin and Sugi-san is Naru-chan. I do not know who is the seiyuu for her, but it mean that the drama cd will not be like only one or second chapter long. It might be random scene ?

It seems also that the Drama CD will be out on January 28st.

tough choice either way? On the one hand sure it's nice to have additional arcs that can explore more stuff in a universe you like. On the other hand, series that drag on forever can end up failing in a lot of ways. The quality can go down, the author can lose interest and end it badly part way through, the author can just plain die (have had this happen to a couple of series I liked :(), etc. There's something to be said for having a more compact story with a clean ending.

With that said, I do hope she revisits the universe at some point with some additional material exploring their relationship and challenges down the road. But I think ending GF there wasn't too bad.

Just finished GF, was my first Yuri manga ever, and I have to say I feel somewhat empty inside now that's it's over.

I am going to start Octane now and hope it is even 50% of what GF was.

Don't, Octave is nothing like Girlfriends, and it's fucking shit in my opinion. Go for Hanjuku Joshi if you want something similar.

Not really, the problems in Ocatve were caused by the characters acting retarded, but this is so common in romance manga that it's hardly worth complaining about. The annoying part is that the secondary characters are only introduced to help the main characters solve these problems and when they fulfill that goal they are shipped out of the story.

In her defense, Yukino was pretty fucked up, and Setsuko had her share of issues. You can't expect people like them to not fuck things up every few chapters.

This was annoying, especially since the manga seemed to imply Yukino never saw some of them again, like Mika, Kamo-chan, the chef and Shiori.
