We would've been even moreso if we saw what was gonna come. I mean, in hindsight they were tough fights, but the four were easy enough to handle. You guys were a tough crowd.
You, Gyarados, Nidoking, Pidgeot, Pikachu, Graveller... you fought like soldiers. All of us did.
But you... heh, we all remember you especially. Me, you, Blue, and Blastoise. Back at square one. Just us two each against each other.
We could've used some items to tap out for one of the other guys. Nothin' against them, but... we both feel the same about statistics. The bureaucrats trying to tell us how to win our fights. I looked at you, and you looked at me. I swear, we both grinned at the same time. The bruises, the gashes, the broken skin... all the more reason.
Never in all my days have I seen somebody with a right hook like yours. I felt that Hydro Pump as much as you. But lemme tell ya... I think you're the reason they still call it Mega Punch. You just kept slugging him, we both knew the fire wouldn't work.
But we both knew that, again... it was personal. We weren't gonna back down. One of your wings got busted from the pressure in his jets, you already had trauma from Alakazam in ya. You didn't care. You punched until his lights went out. I still remember the look on Blue's face...
Professor Oak came in, but hell... we barely noticed. We didn't say a word to each other. We had nothing to say. Nothing would've sufficed. We just walked into that room... The Hall of Fame. It's, humbling... just saying it out loud.
We were there. We ARE there. The aftermath of our journey, all of it... all of it lead up to that. Our names are on the wall.
