You guys, is this the final version of the region? We should have more rivers if this is based on south america. It also feels really small, maybe we could make the routes longer? Or maybe focus on this later?

The plants on dillweed would need to be rock like. I think theres a rocklike plant somewhere. If anything, make the plants look rugged, so from far away they look like petals, but close up they're obviously fancy rocks.
But then, Pangolin still only has metal plates and no sign of plants...
If it means anything, the plates are arranged around his body in Star shapes, but rounded sort of like petals. If Dillweed has rock-plants on it, then someone could rework the plates to look more planty?

Guaren and Guarenos are to look like ancient/tribal warriors, while Nagual looks more of a shaman. Guaren starts out with grass skirt and armbands. Not that many spots on the body as compared to a regular jaguar. Main color Yellow. Guarenos gets a bit more flair in small things, but the major difference is that Guarenos has more spots and is bigger. Stats: Nagual gains a headress and changes primary color to orange. The club is elongated to look more like a staff. In terms of stats, the first two evolutions would focus on Speed and Attack, while the third would gain small boosts to Sp. Attack and Sp. defence.

With the comibnation of the delicate claws and the forceful beak it'd be good at prying things apart and getting hardshelled prey. >>10591365 I haven't seen any sprites of it, so I think you're in the clear. I don't think anyone knows what sizes we need yet, since it hasn't been decided if this is a romhack or what. It seems like most of the official ones so far are 80x80? Not sure though.

>>10591445 That might be good. For now, the frogs look to be kinda small anyways, so there's no worry I'll exceed the dimensions. (They are based on poison dart frogs, right?)
Anonymous
>>10591445 I agree.
A lot of people are saying that we should use a gen3 hack, claiming it would be easier.
I have no idea if a rom hack would be easier than using gamemaker, but I'm worried that it'd be more limiting.
Personally, I'd love it if we could use gamemaker and then use massive sprites.

>>10591546 Well, I took a look at Essentials in the last thread. Up to Gen 4 Pokemon, all the scripting and coding is there (other than battle animations, though they are working on them), a full FRLG graphic database. Seems pretty solid, my only grievance with it is that the fade in and fade outs are slow and make the game drag pretty significantly.
It seems like it would be easy for someone with scripting abilities to work with, but I sadly do not have any of that experience, so I can't really say one way or the other how "hard" it is to make anything in it.
Anonymous

>>10591546 I don't know enough about hacking ROMs or using gamemaker to have any meaningful input, I'm just gonna try to bring up the subject periodically so maybe people who do know what's up will give it some thought/discussion. It's one area that can't really be voted on since not everyone has that technical knowledge.
Anonymous
>>10591569 Are games made in Essentials played through an emulator? If so then at least there'll be access to a speed button, so slow fade-ins/-outs won't be quite so bad.

Gen 3 has a lot of tools and it's relatively easy to hack. But I've found it's really prone to getting corrupted and it does take a lot of effort to significantly change the game. I've never used Gamemaker so I don't have any input on that.
