Call me a newfag if you want, but I've never understood what makes archiving threads like these so important to people. As far as I know, you can't expand the images of an archived thread (if I'm wrong please enlighten me as to how), and the images are the core to threads like these. It's not like our actual discussion is so riveting that reading the archived thread later is going to leave any impact without being able to look at the images again. I hate the NP guides compared to the Versus Books. In this there was only one water route that didn't have every single trainer listed, because there were too many. And exact pokemon appearance chances? I couldn't find it this time, but there was even mention of EVs, and apparently to raise defense, you have to have your pokemon take a lot of damage during a battle.What happened to my poster that came with this? ;-;

>>8883344 >Pinsir and Scyther >Exploting psychic's Bug weaknesses in gen 1 Jolteon was pretty much the only Pokemon that could do that since it had the Special stat to take a Psychic or two and counter-attack with Pin Missile. Pinsir and Scyther don't learn ANY bug moves in Gen 1, not that it mattered since all of them were weak as piss.

Corsola, Lanturn, they were all listed as ??? on their location map.
Not that it wasn't that bad of a gimmick, it made me stick around enough to try and catch them.
It was a fun guide because of the occasional bits of sarcasm that the guy who wrote it had.

I'd like to see them release a pokemon game where you could have different starting towns, and have only one game save with each town per cartridge. Each town could offer it's own set of starters, and you could only get 3 of the 9 on any playthrough, except by trading. After beating the elite 4, you'd have to fight 2 other challengers, representing the guys from the other towns. If you had game saves for those towns on the cartridge that had beaten the elite 4+2, the challengers' gender and team composition would be taken from their most recent hall of fame entry. After winning, they'd become NPCs you could trade with. They'd trade you the pokemon in the top position from the other game saves, again provided they had also beaten the elite4+2, and otherwise trade you something stupid carrying something valuable like a Graveler carrying TM13 or TM24.
