I assess high intelligence for a living, and the idea that a high IQ means that you will be skilled in all fields is absolutely ridiculous.

"Intelligence" is not the same as "knowledge", and solving problems in any field requires both.

Apart from that, I have a problem: I am unemployed and living with my girlfriend and two kids in Michigan. My girlfriend recently enrolled in a community college for the fall, and will probably only be able to work part-time while in school. She is going for nursing and her classes will be from 8am-3pm Mon-Fri. My father has been paying our rent ($780/m) and says he will cut us off by January 1. Day care is expensive and both my girlfriend and I don't trust babysitting. I want to go to college for computer science, but it looks like that won't be for quite some time. Any job I can get, even if my girlfriend is also working (somehow) won't pay the rent. Wat do, Spock?

Where does he say he can give expert advice in all fields?
He's just offering logical solutions, and logics is a subset of Intelligence, while google can help him with general knowledge in case it is lacking.
After all the important part is to know where to look it up, not to know it out of hand.

Did you practise such tests beforehand?
You can't really "pass" an IQ test; you get a score.
Of course there might be a threshold (for admittance in the case of Mensa) - which could be a criteria for passed; but generally "passing" an IQ test isn't very meaningful.
But even if you did it means you're of above average intelligence.

I did the mensa online test some time (a year or so) before under bad conditions (and passed). I am aware that I'm of above average intelligence, haha, that's not impressive at all. But I think it'd be better to regard my study/problem solving results as a measure for intelligence.
