Britain's planned next generation of Fleet Tankers for its Royal Fleet Auxiliary will likely have a "made in Korea" label, if a consortium led by BAE Systems is successful
BAE Systems has submitted a response to a U.K. Ministry of Defence Pre-Qualifying Questionnaire (PQQ) to design and build up to six of the fleet tankers for the RFA. The company will partner with BMT Defence Services Ltd and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME) to bid for the contract for the ships, the first part of the U.K.'s planned Military Afloat Reach and Sustainability (MARS) program.
BAE Systems through its Surface Fleet Solutions business will act as lead contractor and program manager, BMT will be the design partner and the ships are planned to be built by DSME in Korea. BAE Systems says that this approach "combines the best global experience in both commercial and military shipbuilding."

A 53-year-old man from Vernon, British Columbia, was arrested in January and charged with robbing a CIBC bank. He had left his 20-year-old companion in the getaway car listening to the radio, but when the alleged robber got in with the stash, they discovered that the car would not start because the radio had drained the battery. College freshmen earned an average grade of F, or just 53.7 percent, when asked a series of questions about U.S. presidents and key historical events from their times in office. After four years of college, their knowledge didn't improve much.
College seniors got just 55.4 percent on the 60-question quiz given to 14,000 students at 50 colleges and universities across the country as part of a study designed to test their knowledge of America's history, government, international relations and market economy.

This statement was released Jan. 21 (read in a YouTube video by a Stephen Hawking-like computerized voice). It was followed by another on Feb. 10 that coincided with demonstrations at Scientology centers around the world at which protesters donned masks (the Guy Fawkes variety from the movie "V for Vendetta") and waved posters that read, among other things, "Honk If You Hate Scientology."
