Nearly every western nation practices some form or degree of "third way" politics, a capitalistic economic system with moderate to strong social safety nets, like welfare, Social Security, in most countries Universal Health Care, etc. The leftist leaning parties generally want to strengthen (or establish) these aspects of governing, while rightist leaning parties put emphasis on the individual and third parties to achieve those goals. There are exceptions, but I've noticed this in the politics a lot of nations, from the United States to Ukraine, from Belgium to Bulgaria and everywhere in between.
