I'm mainly a shut in because I don't have the money to DO anything else. I have also grown a strong dislike for people around my age who are seemingly normal, but are somehow completely turned into idiots when alcohol/drugs are involved. I understand alcohol is a nice way to unwind after a week at work, but you don't need to get absolutely plastered to have a good time.

I've also realized I have entirely more fun with a bottle of Riesling and my music collection.

Hi.
I didn't hang out with anyone, ever, for over 2 years.
I only went to school, and there I always sat in the back of class listening to my music, pretending the outside world wasn't there.
Whenever I go outside, I think everyone is staring at me, either hating me or plotting me.
I can be inside my house for more than a week without a problem, but I try to go outside sometimes so I won't rot away.
I don't like most people, but boys tend to fall for me, that scares the living shit out of me and I back away.
In any social situation I'm thinking "what should I say how should I act?"
I try to get friends and be friendly, and put on a outside shell of a person that I sometimes manage to hide behind, but honestly I prefer being at home forever alone.

Every time a girl has expressed interest in me, I've invariably panicked and fucked it up somehow.

I may not qualify for full-blown shut-in status, but that's only because having experienced it before, I've chosen to get out and do stuff from time to time. Still doesn't change largely who I seem to be.

I'm 24, dropped out of college and I'm staying with my parents. I've had no luck even landing a shitty job lately and my extreme anxiety prevents me from getting back out there and looking. The thing that kills me is I was extremely unattractive and overweight with virtually no friends throughout my life and recently started getting /fit/. Turns out I'm apparently somewhat attractive now (according to some), but my social skills are so utterly shit that I still can't make friends with anyone. Successful thread. I'm a 19-year-old girl and I've spent most of the summer playing video games, reading books or just wasting time on my computer. It's mostly to do with the fact I'm in the deepest, darkest countryside with nothing to do and noone to see, but even when I was in the city I loved to be indoors. I feel much lonelier since my boyfriend left me, though.
