水上项目

古代奥运会没有游泳项目。游泳项目于1896年进入了现代奥运会。第 1 届现代奥运会设有100米、500米和1200米3个游泳项目。1924年的奥运会才真正翻开了竞技游泳的历史。跳水项目起源于游泳运动的发展过程中。现代跳水运动始于20世纪. 1900年瑞典运动员在第2届奥运会上进行了跳水表演。

   1904年在圣路易斯奥运会上，男子跳水首次被正式列为比赛项目。1912年在斯德哥尔摩奥运会上， 女子跳水运动员首次被允许参加比赛。直到1951年，跳水才成为规则完整的奥运会正式比赛项目。目前, 奥运会跳水比赛共设有8枚金牌。水球项目是奥运会历史上最早的集体比赛项目之一。男子木球于1900年巴黎奥运会上被列为正式比赛项目. 女子水球在2000年悉尼奥运会上被列为正式比赛项目。目前， 奥运会水球比赛设有男、女两枚牌。花样游泳为女子项目。原为游泳比赛间歇时的水中表演项目 , 1984年, 花样游泳成为奥运会正式比赛项目, 有单人、双人两项。1996年改为集体赛， 设双人和集体两个项目， 后来在2000年改为双人和集体两个项目。

I haven't seen too many hockey games here but from what I have seen the Euros don't check NEARLY as much as the North American teams.


I mean if you watched US vs. Latvia we were dropping them to the floor every time they even tried to touch the puck. The whole time I was thinking why aren't the Latvians checking back?


Now I'm watching Sweden and Latvia and they play like the women. 0 checking. Its like we take a US football approach to the sport and the Euros take a soccer approach to it (less contact, faster pace).
