Actually tons of FF bosses are weak to status ailments, it's just always a very specific one that you have no way of knowing without reading a guide or trying them all.

Luckily FF12 has a way to infect any enemy with every status ailment they aren't immune to at once.

I'm always ok with enemies having "bullshit" advantage, for the simple reason they're penalized massively by not having a human control their actions and fighting like retards based on simple conditions. Need to balance things out.

I didn't have the abilities to prevent that one Heat status effect, and there was absolutely no indication that he was undead, so it was a fuckhard fight.

My second time through, I looked at a guide because I wanted to see what I had missed. "This guy is undead! Phoenix Down him!" I proceeded to lol, steal his shit, and revive him to death.

I heard someone talking about useless status effect spells. In Black Sigil one of the characters had an insta-death attack that could affect multiple enemies and was almost 100%. It was REALLY cheap, however some enemies had it too so you had to be careful because they could wipe out your entire party in a cast.

The game was pretty buggy, so I don't know if they never got a chance to change it or they did it because the random encounters in that game were 3 or 4 times what they should of been.

The way I'd figure it out is that you'd take 80% of the damage each time the bonus is applied. Assuming it's a 20% damage reduction bonus:

1x(0.8)^(5)=0.327

You'd still be taking about one third of the damage.

Chenghou Project (the one with the obscenely sharp second turn that leads into two jumps) is hilarious on Phantom. The AI flat out can't handle Phantom speeds on that banked turn, it just soars off the track.

Try using autopilot for that part and giggle like a school girl as your ship bounces up and down trying to stay on the track before flying into the scenery.

Rollcage seemed to address that. Powerups seemed utterly random, however this meant you ran the risk of getting two items (you had two slots for weapons) that you could do fuck all with, but you could spam them out normally and get a speed boost, time distortion or shield
