I used to be an admin on the largest network in the southern hemisphere, We had about 700,000 user accounts to maintain and 450,000 computers, 2500 high end Dell and HP servers as well as about 300 shitty little acer servers.

This is partly why people are so fucking computer illiterate. The technology used in schools is fucking ancient by current standards, but due to the pace technology develops its expensive to upgrade all the time for a school setting.

Now combine that with computer classes - if a school even has them - that do not teach you anything besides how word processors work. Nothing about safe use of the internet, the good anti-virus/spyware programs, and all the practical knowledge you should know to keep a computer running decently.

And you're even luckier if you even have a teacher certified to teach computer technology instead of some random ass teacher certified in something unrelated or only partly related.

I know, man. I lived at home while working full-time. Carpooled in with my dad and the neighbour woman. By the time I moved out I'd saved enough to straight-up buy a small house and my own vehicle. So now I live on my own, debt-free, because I stayed at home a few years extra.

Shit yeah. I'm an alcoholic and I build/repair computers for a living. Get hammered, order the parts I need. Get hammered again when they come in, build that motherfucker, and charge about 20% on top of my costs. Still cheaper than a prebuilt, and I don't fill it up with fucking useless bloatware.
