rural areas are scarce in enemies, but scarce in certain resources. Better suited to creation of villiages
Urban areas are bountiful in enemies and scavengable items. Almost all of your food and water will be scavenged.
Most zombies sleep during the day, in dark unlit areas. Can be awoken ala-I Am Legend, light does not harm zombies.
Text/mic sound only travels so far, and you can go into yell mode to make it travel farther. This would be useful for finding groups or communicating short to medium distance, but zombies are also drawn to your sound. You can make signs that you can literally draw and write on (like minecraft, but with drawings) that let other survivors know whats up. Most surfaces are also able to be drawn upon.
Almost everything laying about has some purpose, and every item has certain characteristics about it that allow it to be used for crafting. For example: a tin can would have metal/tin characteristic and a cylindrical characteristic. Popcans would be similar. So you could build something using one or both of those properties, but if you only needed metal, some scrap would've done as well. Also, all items have durability, so if you craft with flimsy materials, you get flimsy results
crafting would be for just about anything you can think of. Tools, traps, food, chemical mixtures, weapons, walls, barricades, machines, ect
