>>124786028>either use their DRM or you get nothingLike with every other game that uses DRM...
Also, I've never had Steam's "DRM" be intrusive. I would honestly like to know what the problem is, because I've never had any.
>You can't use what you paid for without their programBecause the games you download use the Steam client to start. It's probably a minor security measure, but Steam doesn't take much space on my computer, so I don't have a problem putting it on there.
>you can't install and play games without an account and active internet connectionYou can't download and install games from a digital distribution client without an internet connection? I'm shocked.
Also, there's an Offline Mode that shows up if you aren't connected to the internet so you can play without being connected.
>When they fuck up, you pay for it, in full. When has this ever happened? And if it did happen, did this person file a community service report, and ask Steam to fix the problem? And did they just say to "fuck off"?
>you have no leverage and no freedomLeverage or freedom to do what? Play your games? Download your games from Steam? Play games with friends?
What is Steam not letting you do that is so horrible?
Listen, if Valve honestly is doing something bad, then I'll be the first to take up arms. However, I've never heard any legit problems that are actually true, or, if I have, they were fixed quickly enough that I don't retain any memory of it.
While Origin is a fucking piece of shit, and EA is using it to keep people in control, I've never seen Valve do anything in nearly the same manner. Steam isn't intrusive, it has sales all the time, I can purchase games for cheap, as well as see what's new. It's like going to the store and picking out a new PC game, except I don't have to drive to the store.
If anyone does have good examples of wrongdoings as far as Steam goes, I'd wouldn't mind reading it.
