>>127169438 You could have an exclusively exploration based game where you play someone stumbling upon the old and abandoned containment facility. One of my favourite ones was a sort of history book detailing the rise and fall of some unbelievably violent and sadistic civilization from ancient history which bulldozed and raped everything else before it up and vanished. The kicker was that every time someone read the book, the civilization lasted a little bit longer, with ruins and relics popping up here and there. The science guys eventually decided to stop reading the book altogether when the ruins became recent enough to be dated from WW2 or something.

How about a game with several plots and characters you play as: 1.) You play as an agent. There has been a containment breach and it's your team's job to secure several SCPs. It'd be an FPS style of gameplay, with common enemies like zombies, other things that transform humans (like the skin disease which makes them all slimey, forgot what exactly it was) and regular humans gone crazy due to SCPs (like police, Army, or just crazed civilians). End Boss could be the Hard to Kill Lizard. Other Bosses would be SCPs that are dangerous as well, and they aren't always surpressed by firearms. 2.) You wake up in some facility with Amnesia. You try to get out and constantly come across creepy things and puzzles. Here for example you could implement things like The Old Man and SCP 173. In the end you find out you were a SCP yourself and the Agents from 1.) take you down. Other ideas I have would be Researchers fucking up with SCP items and the stories of how SCPs got secured in the first place.

So yeah, how would this game work? If its just an exploration/survival game set in the actual complex(there is more than one btw) then you probably wouldnt be able to visit the SCP's that are actual places in the world. Such as the Evil Theme Park, that room of Pipes that attack you if you try to fuck with them and the building that causes everything on the second floor to dissapear. I suppose there could be different modes. Playing as a simple employee, going out on missions to investigate places and going on missions to contain agressive entities.

Like, when the game starts you are standing just inside the entrance to a holding area for an SCP or the SCP itself (if it is a place), obviously you cannot exit. You then proceed to explore the area and upon completing some objective or dying (or otherwise rendered immobile) the screen fades to black and back, after which you find yourself at the entrance of another SCP area, randomly selected mayhaps?
The replayability comes fromthe SCPs being randomly selected, so if you die at one SCP you might not get it next time, and if you do you'll want to do it properly and attempt to not die.
Then again, this might not be the best way.

Life

Mountains erode.
Hillsides crumble.
To him, they go as whisper fast as men

Offal spreads from his feet,
stinking, harsh,
making unprepared eyes water-
so much faster,
stone.
Stone does not care for life,
and this stone cares yet less
but for the quick,
subtle
delicate
erosion
of the snap of bone on bone.
"Abandon all hope ye who enter here."
Stone does not care.

Secure, Contain, Protect. Like someone said, co-op as class-D personel. There are a ton of SCPs who all have pretty interesting containment procedures (times co-operation whilst operating in the room, if someone looks at the wrong thing at the wrong second, you all die.) There are several SCPs that transport you to different dimensions. Exploring those as a team would be fun as all hell. Fuck, I might learn Source modding just to have a go at making this.

Okay, so here's how I figure the game should go. SCP agent walks into a room to investigate an item. Walks out and finds that shit has hit the ceiling fan. Doomsday scenario shit all over the place. That's when it becomes the regular FPS style game play. The twist at the very end; The agent is now considered a research specimen connected to the SCP he had entered. The detain him because for some reason, he now has intricate details of the facility that few personnel should know about. They keep him alive because he's seen things that have not yet been observed. Basically, it's a "It all was a dream" ending. But at the same time, none of the events were actually "imagined". All that's known is that the guy disappears for brief periods of time, only to reappear days later telling stories of end-of-the-world scenarios in which he succeeds every time, leading researchers to wonder what would happen if he "never" came back.

>>127181811 Yeah, lots of them are shitty fanfictions or self-inserts. I wanted to make one about a plastic space alien that activates when you put a wind up key (its brain) in its back, and it freaks out and screams and cries.
They figure out how to access the brain with simple usb technology, and find digitised images of its home planet, where it's a superhero.
I dunno.

>>127181335 That's my favorite part.
I was in the chat and I had already made an SCP that was rather shitty because it was essentially "I'M A CRAZY ROGUE AI WHO WANTS TO KILL EVERYTHING WOOOOOO", so I was talking to Gears about it and he recommended thinking about things that are unpleasant and build around that. One of the first things that came to mind was paper cuts, and then from that a sword made out of paper, and from that paper that can fold into anything.
Dr. Wondertainment came from this first too, and i'm pleased as punch to see that it's been adopted by other SCPs.

Wouldn't it work, for a game, that you are a smart SCP trying to escape just as all hell breaks loose? Give a passive ability such as shape shifting into humanoid on sight (ie: guards and D subjects). For it to have some extra plot, say you are trying to reach X person/object which you want to save from the foundation.

But how about this:
>you are indestructibel, this much is certain, although your host can die >eventually they manage to capture you somehow, although they know they can't detain you permanently >the foundation puts you in a catatonic state through artificial means >one day the foundation gets attacked/destroyed >your life support can no longer be upheld >your host dies >you assume the identity of a high-ranking foundation member escaping the complex >shit gets real crazy Anonymous

Alright, /v/, get this! A roguelike 3D game, with all the content and even more of the likes of Binding of Isaac and randomized rooms & encounters. Except it's a true pschycological horror game based on SCP-like stuff. Possibly hundreds of "enemies", hundreds of encounter types. It would be set in a giant SCP containment underground complex that you'd have to escape from. I'd play the shit out of it. And then never sleep again.

I normally like SCP foundation, but there's one thing that pisses me off about it. It's under the guise of a super secret, all powerful, above-all-laws type deal. In some stories, it tells of how they literally murder entire towns to keep a secret, will murder their own employees for mundane things, and generally just kill people for doing something they don't like. I hate any and all ideas of all controlling government facilities, so that aspect makes me hate everything about it.

There was some chick who could manipulate photos and shit, and then she used her powers to beat Abel in a duel or something. Really dumb shit. Then there was another chick who could talk to machines, and that once calculator fell in love with her or something.
It's been a long time since I've read, but considering a lot of these pages are shorter than I remember, I'm suspecting that there was a lot of "spring cleaning". I hope they got rid of those bitches.

>>127182844 It should actually be relatively doable if you just think of it as the state of suspicion and security in the foundation increasingly rising, necessitating "you" and other members to partake in regular psychological exams to spot the SCP, and once you get caught, the game just enters "act II". It's not a Peter Molyneux level of impossibility.
The first act of the game can just consist of a number of chapters or experiments that are relatively independant from each other. This way you can have a main scenario, the foundation and the state it is in, i.e. their paranoia and awareness of your existence, and sub-scenarios tied to different incarnations which can occur in any order. The chapters can have influence on other chapters and the main scenarion, but that isn't anything we haven't already seen in other games, specifically RPGs.

There's some heavy implication that some of the items they're containing are either completely unnecessary or preventing "good" in the world. Also that they are either committing or hiding the crimes they've committed. But that the nature of the organization requires sacrifices to be made for what they determine to be the overall good.
SCP is strictly Lawful Neutral.

SCP-2374 Subject Analysis// SCP personnel were contacted directly by an encrypted signal upon discovery of SCP-2374's vessel. Contact lasted for only approximately 45 seconds which had been confirmed by command. Response group-5 was dispatched after satellites confirmed an orbiting craft had crashed. The group reached the area at 03:43. Response team lost contact with command for 37 minutes 21 seconds. Contact was only re-established upon contact when aforementioned signal contacted the group. The group was found mutilated by unknown force. Analysis of tissue shows that the fibers had disconnected. Residue was recovered off of the response group. It is of unknown origin and is thought to be a biological substance. Team lead was found with one eye removed, an inserted chip attached to the brain stem, left arm removed above elbow and right leg forcefully removed, no signs of contact with groups lead's body though.
