Ok, so, before I go on, everything I read was in some MMO magazine my friend bought, and I stumbled across it. I haven't been able to find the source since, so take everything I say with a grain of salt, if you'd like. Though I assure you that everything I say is to the best of my recollection.
The main thing the article was focused on was "political PvP". What they mean is that the game's government is entirely player run (the way EvE's economy is player-controlled). There's still PvE and regular PvP, but the political aspect is for those who REALLY want to get into the game.
From what I remember, when you lose all your HP, you go into topor. However, your character can experience a Final Death if your enemy so wishes it. That being said, the more political power you have, the bigger the target on your back is.
And it's real political power, too. Not some "lol you got to president level now you can summon more npcs to fight for you". No, fuck that. What they were planning is full-scale political espionage between guilds. Anyone who's played EVE knows what they're capable of.
CCP fired 120 employees and it will probably never be released.
