A vault used to test mental stability over time.
A group of children, adolescents, teenagers, and young adults are put into a vault. Half of each group has a history of mental issues (depression, anxiety, ADD, etc), and the other is completely mentally sound. The four groups will be separated into different areas of the vault where they cannot access eachother. Dwellers are also limited in contact with members of their own group to one hour a day.
Each Dweller will be given either a kitten or puppy upon entering the vault. They must then take care of it until it is six months old, where it will promptly be taken away, without notice, and given to another vault dweller, in a different area of the vault. The dweller will never see it again. The new animal received by the dweller will be the opposite animal in which they originally started with.
After the first pet swap, this will be done randomly. If the dweller resists, the animal will be shot, and the dweller is unable to have a pet until the next swap, leaving them isolated nearly every day.
