>>134199332Now, you're a curiosity. The merchant ship was a lost Native American ship. Your skin is brown, and painted in places. You wear a feather cap, carry a little bow, and are dressed in scarcely more than the feather-and-leather garb that has become traditional among these native-gone-merchant people.
The bright colors of your garb cause a wandering sentry to find you and take you home to his city. He knows little of medicine but has a wife, and she does her best to treat you.
When you awaken, the game truly begins. By making many decisions and going through the golemancy rites yourself- a terrifying process for a foreign son, and something of considerate scandal that must be resolved in time- you slowly acclimate to the new culture.
Fast-forward ten years. The drums of war are sounding, and through happenstance, you have taken to the golemancy brilliantly and become a powerful knight, sworn to the Emperor.
Who are you going to war against? The navy of the Native Americans. Their animal mastery, powerful ranged tactics, and the animal spirits they have discovered (via similar means as golemancy was discovered) they have taken to conquest, and decided to settle the kingdoms across the Atlantic.
Will you fight for your king against your own people? Will you join your own people and turn the tide, damning the golem people to a future of war and ultimately defeat?
Will you try to mediate, being representative of both cultures?
All that power falls on you, as the player.
