now it is, "these guys made something that sells, lets copy their shit and sell our bland copy of it and make easy money"
the only reason this flies is the casual market (casual actually just means people who never played games before in their life) which came about when developers realized there are a lot of people who don't play games obviously lack the intelligence to manage buttons on a controller, needed to find a way to get their money, starting making simplified games, which are very bland so it doesnt attract a specific audience.
literallu carrying the title casual is an insult, but people dont think it means anything other than a guy who plays games occasionally, not someone whos a fool.
