>>134361927Mainly it's the type of game nobody is making anymore, other than garage indie devs.
So far they have promised, Turn based, stats and attributes, no cut scenes, lots of different choices in dialog, lots of skills and not just combat skills.
It's a matter of trusting a guy who used to make these games years ago, over some guy in a garage trying to make one, for the first time. Who do you trust, the washed up old guy, or the new comer?
I'll be honest here. Brian Fargo is full of shit. He keeps bashing publishers for not wanting to make old school RPGs, but when Bard's Tale came out, he was talking shit about old school RPGs, and how no one should make them anymore. One of his InXile guys bashed turn based games, claiming that if the developers had their way in the old days, it would have been real time combat. All this stuff about publishers keeping down the little guy, and how InXile wants to make a hardcore game for PC CRPG fans is just PR.
But even though it's just PR bullshit, Fargo has made some smart moves, hiring back all those guys who worked on the first Wasteland, and trying to bring in guys who worked on Fallout is a brilliant PR move, and has earned my donation.
