4. My favorite part of the game, I believe, was walking into a house in Skyloft and hearing the "Inside a House" theme of Ocarina of Time.
>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BERYn0PGNpQ Skyward Sword>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaK9OSSOqQM Ocarina of timeI thought, "Whoooaa! Wave of nostalgia hitting me, this is great! I really feel like I'm playing a Legend of Zelda game again! Man, if just the music is 'striking a chord' with me, this game will be great! Maybe it will be like I've been hearing and play like a suped up Ocarina of Time or stylized Twilight Princess! I wonder what other song themes they will implement! I hope I hear LttP somewhere in here!" Then, nothing. The music was bland and forgettable. No tunes I can recall. The whole "using the harp" thing was ATROCIOUS to use, was nothing more than a metronome in implementation and not AT ALL an amusing way to explore the musicality of the in-game instrument. Do you remember all the things you could do with the Ocarina? They ways you could Howl as a wolf? Can you remember the Bolero of Fire? The Song of Storms? Now, can you remember the *looks up name of song* "Din's Power?" Or, how about "The Song of the Hero," you know, the final part of the game that took about 20 hours of gametime to collect, was sung three times by three dragons and a giant air-whale and played on your harp? No?? Neither did I.
Is Skyward Sword playable? Yes.
Is Skyward Sword enjoyable? Yes.
Is Skyward Sword a good game? Yes.
Would I recommend it to anyone? No.
It's a boring game that sucks all the fun out of its gimmick. The plot is lacking, the OST, though filled with quality, is forgettable and bland. The characters are weak, the enemies tedious and the atmosphere...lacking. I prefer almost all the other Legend of Zelda videogames over Skyward Sword. Shame.
