>>136979540>>136979987>>136980068>the punchline to all these comics can be LITERALLY summed up to "US GAMERS RIGHT"I have a different opinion on video game webcomics now. I used to believe that they're mostly just making fun of stupid video game logic, which is poor fodder for comedy given that nobody can get the joke unless they have played that specific game.
Now, I've seen something worse. Punchlines that are nothing but a reference to "GAMER SLANG" (ugh that phrase) and petty video game references.
It makes me sick. I'm an animator, and I would really like to create a respectable cartoon set in a video game, and use and lampoon video game cliches and tropes. And I don't mean something like Spy Kids 3D bullshit, but a cartoon by someone who knows a fucking shitton about video games. Possibly make video game references here and there, but never simple, obvious references that are directly stated like "This is just like Halo!" but something like "You feel that? I feel like a black wind just blew through me."
My hobby is a fucking joke sometimes though, and nobody ever, ever knows how to handle video games within anything outside of video games, except in few, occasional cases such as Penny Arcade.
