>>152344108>>152343842Well I know it's the Master's Swords' schtick that it has to kill whatever is evil in the game it's in. But really I don't see all that much lore shitting about it. The Master Sword isn't all that effective at killing evil. Ganon's come back a lot sure. But it's not like the power of the Master Sword is as great as other anti-evil weapons like Light Arrows. Wolfos, Poes, Stalfos all of them survive being struck with the thing. It's not just Ganon that can take an absurd amount of hits from the thing; or even really the bosses. Any old monster can. It makes the legendary evil killing blade look pathetic; when it's not supposed to be drained of its power.
Sure there's the argument of it simply being weaker than the lore says it is for the sake of there being a game to play. But I don't see why the gameplay performance can't be made to play into how great the Master Sword is. I just want to see something other than the Master Sword "work" not preform better than it. But cut things just as well as it, and for eviler evil. Sure it's a factor of being at the bookend of the retconning; but the first Link killed Ganon without needing a sword special for anything; he just used Silver Arrows.
I'd be fine to see Link facing some kind of vampire derivative endboss and use a woodcutting axe merely blessed by some local priest in hopes of slaying him. Or Having him prepare for the fight by getting 99 silver arrows. And going to Biggoron to get a volcanic-forged a silver plated sword quenched in holy water blessed by 22 separate priests encrusted with 8 special gems of protection, etched with various holy symbols of deities to sub-in for having a long-standing legendary Master Sword.
