>>152496415And to continue my rant: There is one other thing we could do.
Self Moderation.
I know, you're thinking "Wow that is a horrible idea, it would be fucking stupid!" But there could be two effective "counter shitposting" methods in which to purge /v/.
First, would be to have "custom filters". For example, you could filter words, threads, trips/names, emails, hell, even IP addresses. If we had this ability, shitposting would be come almost incoherently obsolete. You could filter out posts with any variation of "lel", "xD", "reddit", etc. Eventually, we would come to see only things that were intended for /v/ in the first place: Video Games. With this, it would cause a mindset, thus ridding anything inadvertent to /v/ that users would not like.
The other option would be "vote bans", ala CS or L4D games. A post would need to be voted for by a certain amount of people to be banned for a certain amount of time. For example, people can vote to ban for X amount of time, like this:
>Vote for post >>No.152492859>-Ban for 1 day>-Ban for one week>-Ban for one month>-Ban for one year>-PermabanWith the system also containing custom amounts to be entered. So instead of one year, make it 16 months or something.
