If nintendo attracts casuals to the F-Zero franchise, they sure as hell are not going to drive them off by making a game as challenging as GX was. Seriously, think about the current state of gaming. You think that Nintendo is making a streamlined version of F-Zero to draw new players into the game so that they'll play the 'better' version when it's developed.

I think that Nintendo making a streamlined version of F-Zero will undermine their 'better' version, because the new players will stick with the mini-game and won't feel compelled to shell out $Money for another version of what they think they already have. And that's if Nintendo doesn't decide "Hey, this streamlined version of F-Zero sold like gangbusters [ignoring the context of the minigame collection], this is the direction we should take the series in".

Sorry, I find the price to be too great. This is exactly why we got games like Other M. Garbage like Hunters and Fusion and even Pinball made Nintendo think they could get away with it, that people didn't care about Metroid's signature gameplay.
