>Take out the old one, practice putting it in and out to make sure I don't fuck up the new one
>Get the new one in easily
>The heatsink that came with the new one is goddamn fuck shit get on those prongs you piece of shit oh fuck
>finally manage to get it in, plug in power and turn it on
>IT LIVES
>powers off 5 seconds later
>plug in monitor
>UNSUPPORTED CPU INSTALLED, SHUTTING DOWN....

Turns out the BIOS of the shitty prebuilt prevents installation of a new card. I had to purchase a new motherboard.

>it won't budge
>try twisting it, hear a crack FUCK
>pull hard and it snaps off
>the pre-applied thermal paste was acting like glue and preventing me from lifting, the cracking was just the thermal paste creaking
