no one pushes DLC on anyone. you either buy the game then buy the DLC or buy the game and don't buy the DLC. there is no one putting a gun to your head to buy the DLC, the closest thing to anything like "pushing" is people like capcom that make a competitive fighter and then release characters for the game, essentially making tourneyfags have to buy the DLC in order to stay competitive

I just bought a 3DS a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't seen much on sale yet (just the one game per week from the Nintendo Direct). How do they do their sales? Do they have Christmas/Summer sales?

They definitely could improve the selection of eShop. Why not put up some non-ambassador GBA, SNES, Genesis games? Lots of missed potential here. The 3DS region lock sucks too.

Region-locking on Nintendo systems affects a small number of people. I'm in favor of Nintendo doing whatever the fuck they want in this case, because this problem is as significant to them as a three-week old mosquito bite.

Blocking used games, however, affects a whole lot of people. If it gets enough complaints, I would hope Sony and Microsoft are competent enough to address the issue. If they don't do anything, then whatever. I don't have to buy their products if I don't want to.

Guaranteed to put at least two models for the same handheld instead of putting time into its R&D. Of course, you guys will argue this point to no end.

Relies on itself for most of its gaming library. Probably is fine to most people, but I like third party support too. I know PC fags, I know, but I have a shitty HD 6450 card.

Never standardizes input. It's awesome when a console first comes out, but now I have to buy shitloads of peripherals for some minor feature (motion plus, Wii speak for City Folk). I imagine in Kerfuffle there'll be shitloads of ways to play, though.

My main pet peeve is digital distribution though. Fuck all of that.

the only reason the wii sold so well was because of a gimmicky controller, the novelty of which wore off after a few bowling matches or the first zelda game.

its no wonder the wii u is doing so terribly, and unless they can find an innovative way to market they're next console (and if they want to stay competitive they'd better have another console coming out, because the wii u just wont cut it) they're dead meat for this generation.

nintendo isnt exactly a company known for its innovation. it's a company known for rehashes and, lately, gimmicks.

I'm nearly 30, and Save the Princess games get really old. Incredibly old. Tiny nuances in gameplay (like planets for SMG 1 and 2) aren't novel enough for a new gameplay experience anymore, at least not for me.

Watch Dogs does however look fantastic and I look forward to seeing how it develops. Destiny, too.

I grew up Sega/Sony. My best friend had Nintendo systems and we used to trade etc but only in the last few years have I become a pretty big Nintendo fan. I've been gaming for 25 years and I'm so sick of what's been shoveled out this gen I just want color and fun. Hell even with JRPGs Xenoblade was best of the gen on home consoles.

Honestly I felt better about my Wii U purchase after the Sony conference after seeing, it'll be more of the same but prettier.

The plus button bro. The Y button used potions, X reloaded, and + (start) kicked. I tried the small blowgun chick and couldn't even figure out how to switch my bullets. I am probably retarded, but it all felt intentionally clunky and shitty. I'm not meant for the game I guess.

Not just Paper Mario, but the Wii and pretty much everything afterwards. He's the reason SMG2 doesn't have a story and is casualized as shit, for example.

Were you using the Pro controller or something? I was using the pad. Also, kicking hardly does shit. The demo does come with a manual, so maybe checking it out would help. I know it helped me to explain some bits I wasn't sure on.

You'll get used to it eventually mate. It has a steep learning curve but when the system clicks for you it is noticeable.

If you find a hunting partner to help you with early stages it is a lot of fun and smoother too.

Okay, imagine your favorite game trilogy of all time. Let's say its Mass Effect. Now after you've experienced all 3 games, the devs say they're making another one, with minor changes. You're like "well, that's unnecessary but cool, I guess", so you play the next one, then the next one, and so on for about 10 years. Then, the devs announce they're making another Shepard game but without all the reapers and protheans stuff, it's gonna be a new lore. You're kinda pissed of but you go with it.
You're beginning to notice a drop in quality, but you can't say anything about it because this particular dev never listens to its fans, just the sales. The next Shepard game is now in 2D instead of 3D and that's the only gimmick.
It's been a long time since you were initially pissed of at the devs. In the meantime, they've released "Shepard Bowling", "Shepard Dancing", "Shepard Space Races" and "Shepard is missing Liara".

It's been a year without a Shepard title. Hope begins to grow inside of you. But then, the devs announce a new series called "Brand Fresh Shepard and Kaidan Bros". "FUCKsdfsedgfgfd", you think to yourself. Next year they announce the sequel. Almost no changes.
The year after that they announce another sequel.
The only change is the sky is now dark instead of blue in odd levels. You abandon the jewish developers and start enjoying games again.

And that's the Mario series in a nutshell.

I couldn't get into NNK for some reason. I felt like initially there was too much story, but not enough story for it not to feel rushed. It was weird. And I couldn't get into the combat at all.

Having said that my brother loved it and to be fair I'm more of a Wizardry/SMT/EO/Elminage type of RPG guy.

tl;dr that's not true, SM64 plays nothing like SMS, SMG or SM3DL. The SMB games from SMB1 to SMW (not including SMW2) had always improvements/new powerups. The only "rehashes" who maybe can tire you are the NSMB series and SMG1 with SMG2, because those are just repacks of maps. And that's fine, because a game with no story can be expanded just like that if the maps are well done.

And if you think they are "all the same with minor updates", you would be playing fucking Pitfall/Tetris/Doom/Metal Gear/Final Fantasy/Crusin' USA/Guitar Hero and say you played every platformer/puzzler/FPS/TPS/RPG/Racing/musical game in existence, disregarding Sonic the Hedgehog/PuyoPuyo/Half Life/Resident Evil 4/F-Zero/Dance Dance Revolution.

Resonance of Fate, Graces f were good, as well as VC, but the selection is bogged down with way too much stuff from GUST, NIS etc. Just junk games that sell on fanservice. Totori was nice but that was enough for me.
