I heard many good things about the Metroid series, so I decided to check it out.
I played Zero Mission first. I thought it was an absolutely fantastic game. The graphics, music, exploration and gameplay all felt amazing.
Next, I played Super Metroid. And this game deserves the title. Everything was amazing, literally, one of the best games I've every played.
However, I noticed in most Metroid threads, people usually talk and respect Metroid Prime more, so when I booted up Metroid Prime I was pretty much creaming my pants.
I was met with disappointment.
The game isn't bad, but I can't get into it. I feel the exploration isn't exciting, when I find missiles, instead of going "Yeah!" I went "meh...". The locations are boring. I'm in the fire area, and it's bland, and so was the chozo ruins.
