Some of you might remember a thread from yesterday where people were posting ideas for an RTS game. I was in that thread and suggested a game which had factions that consisted entirely of spellcasters. The idea got some air under it's wings, and people started posting ideas for factions, like Necromancers, Aeromancers, Pyromancers and so on. There was also talk about a resource pool that was shared among the players, representing the residual magic in the atmosphere that increased in potency the more magic is cast.
The game would have a similar system in place as the superweapons in the Red Alert series. These would be spells with global effects, depending on the faction being played.
Finally, the player would have a resurrectable commander unit, or archmage. This unit would have activated abilities and passive auras.
Does /v/ have any interest in developing this idea further? Pic is a mockup cover I made hastily. Feel free to post your own suggestions for that as well.
