SCP-246

No.256661 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Item#: SCP-246
Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-246 is a living statue. It is not hostile unless it feels threatened. It seems that SCP-246 does not approve of talking in any language (more of this is currently being researched) and will become mobile and attack anyone near when there is any speaking above a whisper in its range, usually by bludgeoning them to death with its strong arms. No personnel are to move SCP-246 as any attempt to do so will enrage it.

Description: Moved to Site19's garden area in 1999. Origin seems to be Greek although further studies have noticed an archaic language not resembling Latin or Greek in various places. It seems to be constructed from concrete although there are traces of unknown rock throughout the item's exterior. SCP-246 is animate (see SCP above) and is extremely hostile when threatened. The object cannot move unless it is moved by human interaction or when speaking in front of it. The right side of the item's face seems to have been torn off as if it were hit with a large object, and a brown, unknown material reveals itself. If touched, the brown spot begins glowing bright red as if being heated through unknown causes and will give any who touches it severe burns on the spot where touched. In the event of an attack, personnel are to observe Class 3 hazardous object containment procedures.

Personnel report sounds of a woman moaning after midnight up until dawn. Some reports notice a woman talking or even singing, but as soon as the item comes into view, the sound will stop. This is considered normal, and any change in this behaviour should be reported to the acting HMCL supervisor on duty.

All personnel are reminded to maintain the necessary precautions when cleaning the garden area.
