So I just watched Zeitgeist for the third time. And I have a question about the first part concerning religion: are the filmmakers retarded? Seriously, couldn't they just check WikiPedia before making these ridiculous claims?

Follow up question, meant for discussion. Do you think the abundance of inaccuracies in the first part undermine the argument given in the later parts?

Zeitgeist is a load of balls. The guy clearly didn't do much research. Although Mithra is one of the gods that Jesus takes traits from, along with Horus and Krishna; the guy also claims Odin is one of these gods and Thor of the Gauls.

Didn't say that Quetzalcoatl influenced Christ. But the motif is there. The divine man dead and tied to the crossroads of the equator and the ecliptic is an age old image, just like the tree of life and other religious shit. Doesn't matter what I think, why don't people just do research into debunking the rest of the series that relates to REAL issues (human behavior, social systems, economy, technology, etc) instead of trying to debunk the laughable "religious" portion of the movies. The thing is, Zeitgeist (at least in my personal opinion) actually does argue from a rather reasonable point of view, and I certainly do support the resource-based society it proposes in the most recent movie, but none of this changes the fact that the first Zeitgeist is filled with grossly factually incorrect misinformation. It just totally fails as a documentary.

Zeitgeist really need to revisit that Sun worshipping/Christianity part. It seemed rushed and some of it was wrong. But if you are Xtian, especially Catholics, and you cant see that your entire religion is based around sun worship then you need to take a fucking hard look at it and yourself. Take Lent, good friday and easter which just passed. All borrowed from pre-xtian pagan religions, even hot cross buns (they were enjoyed on that day before christ even supposedly existed, the cross represent the equinoxes and were enjoyed on solstices).

im a firm believer that the abrahamic religions are a mish mash of previous and parallel religions. its called pan-babylonianism but i think it goes back even further than the babylonians. im currently doing a lot of research into the phrygians and their forefathers the bryges, and i actually think western relgion and some eastern all stems from THEIR forefathers, but it may go back further than that. we just dont know enough about that time period and never will.

Now, before people assume I'm a bible thumper (I'm not) I'd like to point out that, purely from a mechanical perspective, the elites need Islam and Christianity destroyed because both religions believe to a fanatical degree that the enemy of their God will forge a world government and rule over the planet with an iron fist some time in the future. As such, those religions are resolutely opposed to world government regardless of whether said world gov is a good or bad idea. As such, they can only go so far in realizing a NWO before facing religious opposition (I don't think the Jews will be as opposed to this as Muslims and Christians).

Look into Maxwell and Tsarion. Maxwell is a Theosophist. Tsarion is a Rosicrucian. Their primary sources are people who were/are Freemasons, Rosicrucians, Theosophists, etc. Notice that rather than do what a rationalist would do--say Christianity is retarded--they go the extra distance of trying to discredit the very existence of Jesus. Jesus could easily have just been some dude in the desert, and a rationalist would be fine with that and disregard Christianity. But that's not acceptable to people like Maxwell or Acharya S, and it's not acceptable to them because what they want to do is utterly destroy Christians and Christianity until no Christians are left to oppose world government. Notice that in later Zeitgeists they turn around and tell us we need world government. That's because Zeitgeist is propaganda.

Nope.jpg the individual mythologies vary wildly. You're probably just seeing similarities from your Western point of view & interpreting them from that Western POV. What you're doing is the same as non-Christians using the Winter Solstice as Jesus' birthday, which is why OP's pic is so fucking retarded. Nowhere in the Bible does it talk about Dec. 25th. His birth date isn't written down anywhere and there's debate among theologians as to which year he would've been born. Christmas is non-Christians trying to interpret this new religion from a non-Christian POV the same as you're doing by adding a Christian slant to their beliefs, & now we see it as Christmas having a "pagan" slant.

Those religions cited in Zeitgeist are separated by time & space. Many of them had no contact with each other. Did they incorporate stellar symbolism? Of course. But they also fixated on wildly varying things depending on the religion/mythology. Hinduism isn't strictly a focus on Krishna & is in no way a savior theology. Or what about something more similar, like Islam? Muhammed isn't a representation of the sun but more like an emissary, which is sort of how they see Jesus and the others. It's good to keep the sun-archetype in mind when discussing religious ideas, but the claims of Jesus being the same story as all the others, & all the other religions as being the same, is bullshit. The reason this is being promoted is because they hope to emphasize sameness to integrate humanity into a single world system, & they're doing that by trying to whitewash & homogenize all religion and mythology. This is deceptive, PC bullshit that's ultimately disrespectful to everybody in its efforts at getting us to respect each other. Respecting each other means respecting each others' differences, not pretending no difference exists.

Theists in general can't be trusted on the history of their own religions, they presuppose too much dogma to be true. There are cultural links throughout Europe and beyond to India that go back millennia, the proof is the Indo-European language family. By Roman times trade in the area was well established. The similarities between the Jesus myth and any number of other Mediterranian and middle eastern religions (cultures that are known to have had contact) are so blatant if you do any comparative mythology at all, you'd have to be wilfully blind not to see it. That's not what I'm saying at all. Yet again, you're imposing your assumptions and expectations upon reality. At no point did I say anything about Christianity that'd insinuate it's divinely revealed or came from nowhere, simply that it's a distinct narrative from other religions, and that those other religions are distinct narratives from each other. You seem utterly oblivious to the fact that you're basically coming off as having the same mindset as the Christian conquerors. At no point do you seem willing or able to question your basic assumptions, including regarding the sort of person who'd disagree with you. This, by the way, is why I've come to loathe atheists ages 25 and under. Any student of antiquated history knows this. Early christianity was wide spread and had many stories and books that are not part of modern day Christianity. Regionally different stories were favored. It wasn't until the council of Nicea under Constantine that christian doctrine was forced into canon under Emperor Constantine.
