That's not what people are taking issue with here, though.
If you want to give people small bits of knowledge and be sure they properly learn their ABCs before trying to learn to write a sonnet, that's fine. Only a complete moron is going to argue that learning a new skill isn't work, and only someone who's never learned anything is going to think you can walk before you can crawl.
What bothers me about groups like this is that they attempt to get people to kiss their asses, basically, to prove they are worthy of knowledge. It's been proven by people posting stuff that was told to them in emails from this "cult" that he basically replied to some people "yeah, no, you're not what we're looking for." and a bunch of other people with some random cryptic stuff often used by people trying to use entry level manipulation techniques... and nearly all of them said the exact same things.
And he told them all they were not like everyone else.
This isn't about people not being ready, or trying to keep people safe. This is about a samefag trying to stroke his own ego and get a few laughs.
Legit people will usually tell you a little something. They'll point you at a book or explain a little bit of the theory behind why something works, then tell you you probably shouldn't try it.
You know who tells you they have all this fantastic knowlege and then refuses to tell you what the knowledge is about, why you should care, or anything, and then tells you you're "unworthy?"
Fucking roleplayers.
