This website was included in my dream because I was Reading about it when I fell asleep.
It was more of a nightmare really, I found a way inside by viewing the site on my phone then once I got in there were loads of bulletins about "foreign cars for sale" and stuff but on further inspection the bulletins were alot more creepier.
Screw you /x/! I can sleep fine after creepypasta but this website scared me...

If you look at the page info for Mortis.com it says that the page owner is hidden. I would think that any self respecting band would be as public as possible about releasing their album ya know?

Simple, a weird website has been found with a simple black background and the word 'Mortis' in large white letters in the center of the screen. Clicking on the word will bring up a prompt to enter a username and password. The site's owner is hidden and the whole thing just reeks of unusual. robots.txt is to allow or disallow the search engines or so-called spiders to crawl the page info.

the core directory is protected with username and password.

Well judging by the text and the fact that the pic is 444x444 then the person running the site likes the spok sort of feel to things. 1) Mortis.com is owned by some dude called Thomas Ling who owns some dentistry in San Fran.
Also after some snooping revealed he has connections to karenling.com (who has a facebook account and specializes in interior design) and cthulhu.net and a couple others I cannot remember.

2) The owner is using the name Thomas Ling, but is not himself Thomas Ling (this suggested by Jefiris [sp?])

3) Some metal band or someone is squatting on that domain name until they are able to sell it for more profit.

The page 15 page 1 guy has nothing to do with mortis. He is a Necromancer of page 15. Meaning, he bumps thread on page 15 about to 404 so they get sent to page 1, hence "PAGE 15 IS PAGE 1". You can tell this by looking at the times of OP posts of the threads he bumps and compare them to page 15 ones. Hell, you can go to page 15 now and you'll probably see the ones you see there now on page 0.
And he hasn't even posted in this thread yet. I'm guessing he posted in the earlier threads(I've only seen the original mortis thread and this one), but this to him was very likely just a thread to bump to page 1.

There have been three threads about this in total from what I know. I was one of the original posters for the first one. That one was started by an OP named Zavull.

A second one started later that day after the first thread had been lost within the pages. I found it and linked the threads together. That was the first time we tried recruiting /g/ to help us, I believe. I think it was there too that the idea of someone using Thomas Ling as a cover name was pursued.
The OP for the second asked what mortis.com was about (again) but had no name.

This is the third one.

I thought this was interesting.
Notice the dates on the files?
robots.txt and style.css are probably repurposed from elsewhere. But index.html hasn't been modified since 2006. And although gel.gif is referenced in the html file with the same dimensions it currently has, the image was modified two years later.
Not much help getting at files. But don't worry too much about the site going anywhere, being that it's been up for five years or so.
