>>8930815I work primarily with spirits.
I've got a patron, whom I worked with (I guess) for 8 years before I started doing proper evocation. I had a shrine to him, made offering and prayers (well, requests and humorous one-way conversation,)
I got my spirit-sense blown wide open about two years ago by an encounter with an Incan (Mayan?) Godform (not my patron) where he sat down on the couch next to us and we talked for better than 3 hours. At the time I couldn't get much more than yes/no positive/negative/closeish off of him, and that was with him putting out full wattage.
...after that? Spent some time training myself to be spirit-sensitive by dowsing (One of /x/'s recommended methods) and working on my scrying technique to facilitate communication, mostly with my patron spirit. From there I established yes-no communication of the crappiest sort and our conversations consisted of long 20-questions conversations.
The first entity other than that I had contact with was, um... a Japanese telcom Kami? After that... our practice just progressed as needed.
I've worked with some of the Goetics. Built a few servitors. Poked one of the Babylonian pantheons and learned that their arrangement doesn't 100% conform to human myths about them. Ended up deeply in debt to a couple demons and had an Angel buy that debt out, which I'm slowly repaying.
What do I have to show for it...? Well I've got the _complete_ seal of Furfur (The one in the Lesser Key is missing a big chunk,) I know the one-syllable name of Abaddon (it's hidden in plain sight) and been yelled at by by demonic mafiosos.
Oh, in the same time my magical partner got warned to get out before a police raid. (Our patron spirit = best patron spirit.)
