I watched some of the Pinwheel stuff and holy dicks is it creepy and the fact that it makes the kids watching it hallucinate and forget it ever existed is even more creepy.

Sadly, that character's name was "Ebeneze T. Squint. He was a piece of -blam!- but he was a regular on the show. Ebenezer used to do criminal things to the other characters in the show. The whole Pinwheel show had some crazy stuff in it now that I think of it.

I'm looking in some different directions now guys. Max Fleishcher is still on my radar. I'm also trying to see if the show "Today's Special had shorts on it. That came on right after Pinwheel in the 1980's. Might be a new lead."

Just asked my older sister and she says she remembers something like this.

She says the drawing rang a bell of the old days, but she can't remember ANYTHING about it.

She remembers the intro, even hummed it for me as i posted this.

But she says the clock-figure is just a blurry reminder of times long passed.

Everyone thank you - no, THANK YOU for helping me attempt to find this monster from my past. As a child Clock Man used to make me think every passing car was going to abduct me. As a teen, I was afraid to sleep with the lights off and as an adult, Clock Man sometimes still haunts my dreams. I've (we've) been searching for over 2 days for him now and I've never been this close to seeing him. It's been almost 30 years. If I could see him one more time as an adult, I think I can finally put his spector behind me. But he's hiding out tthere and does not want to be found.
I posted this originally on The Flood, due to the fact I've never come here - but this place is awesome. I've always kept Clock Man to myself, but now that I know others can 'sort of' remember him just like me. I know he's real. He needs to be brought to justice.

After looking again at Davey and Goliath - the animation seems to fit. The title of that episode "The Stopped Clock" also fits, but I cannot find a video of it anywhere and the description doesn't sound right. The little boy didn't want to leave. He wanted to sleep in his bed and Clock Man took him away. I also can't find a link between this show and Pinwheel. Davey and Goliath is the new front runner though.

I think I just remembered something. I don't know what it was from but it was the end of something. Like some kid had a bad dream about "clock man" and then woke up and saw he was okay and fine and started to go back to sleep, and then clock man opened the clock and pulled him through and I think that's the end.
Then again, we may have stumbled upon a collective memory of some sort.

First, I checked The Adventures of Little Nemo and it most assuredly not that film.

Second, 9326592 mentioned the boy being pulled into the clock instead of out the window. Somehow that feels right. In the last 24 hours I've spoken with so many people my age that have a "dreamlike" memory of Clock Man - as well as associating it with the show Pinwheel. It's so weird. I'd say a dozen or so people have mentioned strange "fuzzy" memories attached to that particular show.

i built an analog clock from scratch once.
there are always flaws wether it be in the wood or the gears, pins, tails, and internal workings that give clocks an almost "personality"

I had this same problem with a video game I thought I played when I was little, it was of this little knight guy who talked to an owl that was in clouds and trees, and after bending my mind and searching the internet, I found eventually it was just a dream I had put onto Wizards and Warriors.. I hope it doesn't turn out like this for you, because I want to see the Clock Man as well... on another note, anyone else think the pinwheel cartoon, considering how it's made kids hallucinate, could it be a 'test' from the 70s by some higher ups to see how certain things effect(affect?) the human brain?

What's so frustrating about this is that even if someone actually finds what the guy is looking for, there isn't even any way he could confirm or deny whether it's actually what he was remembering because he has no clue what he was remembering.

So he can either keep saying, "no that's not it because it isn't exactly like what I remember" or he can say "i guess that could be it and my memory is wrong, but it's not as interesting or scary as I remember"

I used to watch that show every day and it never had anything like that. And it certainly didn't have some subliminal amnesia ray either, since I'm able to sing the theme song to this day. The reason people have hazy memories is because it's old and they watched it as small children.

Holy shit I remember this fucking short!

It was like claymation with poorly made dolls and the animation was real stuttery and shitty. It started with the kid's mom telling him goodnight and closing the door behind her after shutting off the light. Then the door slowly creeks open while a generic eerie wind sound blows and the camera cuts into the kids room at the foot of his bed. He struggles to open his eyes as they slowly droop and he eventually gives in and goes to sleep. Then it cuts up to the clock while the second hand slowly ticks to 12:00. When it hits it there's like a low bell ringing sound and the camera goes back to the foot of the kid's bed. The "Clock Man's" head peeks into the room like the clock were a window. Unlike what the OP's image shows, the Clock Man's head then recedes back and his arms comes out and pushes the clock open like a door, revealing a big dark hole behind the clock. Then Clock Man hops out of the hole and the kid wakes up and stares beady eyed at the Clock Man. Then the Clock Man starts doing like a weird Irish river-dance. Oh, and the Clock Man looks a little different from the picture. He was wearing like an all black turtleneck sweater and a black bowler hat. His skin was green and I don't really remember him having a beard but he did have a big toothy smile and two real big eyes with very tiny pupils.

I don't think I actually watched much after that. But I distinctly remember the Clock Man saying his name was "Benjamin" and he rung an elevator up to the kid's window.

I'm 33 and have vague memories of the Clock Man thing. Mostly what's familiar is just the horrifying climbing-out-of-the-clock bit.
I've noticed the "Pinwheel Effect" on people, since I was in my teens - I'd hum the song or mention the show, and people would invariably not remember it without prompting, but react with horror at first, asking "What IS that from?" For a lot of people, it does seem to be repressed nightmare fuel.
