I found an abandoned cemetery in the woods. It was an old negro cemetery on the wrong side of town, but it was only about twenty yards into the woods.
Many of the stones were broken, or fallen over, but some were still standing up and readable. I would go there a lot with a close friend to pay my respect to the dead that no one cared about anymore. At the time it saddened me because it was being overtaken by swamp. Many of the graves were sunken in a bit, and some were completely under water.
I went back last month to find it again. I haven't lived in my home town in 8 years, so I hadn't been there in a while. I went down the trail with my friend with her leading the way, but when we came to the clearing where the stones should be they were gone. We searched a while, but someone had removed them all.
She hadn't been in a couple of years, but the last time she was there she said there were a hand full of stones left. I will remember them as long as I live even though they were all long cold before I was born. I won't forget.
Once we went there and I took pics of the headstones, and various things. I got two double exposures in one roll at that cemetery. That camera never did that before, or after that day. That's the most paranormal thing that ever happened to me in the woods.
