De Profundis is a psychodrama type of RPG. It's made up of a bunch of letters, from someone who's writing to you, and tells you of a new "game".
He starts to talk about the game, but then the letters slowly become creepy. Even scary. This is actually a demonstration of the game in action: an exchange Lovecraftian style letters between people. The rest of the letters explain in depth the rules of this game, and give various tips and advices.
So this game is essentially about creating creepypasta. Which indeed makes it the /x/ RPG.
It's a nice game, but it requires you to find many people to do it, serious people on top of that.
I've uploaded the Spanish version here:
http://www.filedropper.com/deprofundiscartasdesdeelabismo-edg405Until someone finds it in English.
I couldn't find it on the internet back then, but I randomly found the French version in a book store. I had heard of it before, I roughly knew what it was about. And there it was, in that dangerous bookstore in Paris, that is supposed to only sell books written in the English language, in between two large geography books: it absolutely didn't belong there. It was purposedly put there by someone, and I thought that there might have been a reason for that. So I took it.
The cashier failed to find any label indicating the price: he came to the conclusion that it wasn't sold, and that maybe someone had lost it. He called the owner, this old man that seems to be a hundred years old, that yet has bright and brisk eyes. As soon as he saw De Profundis, a mischievous spark inginited in his eyes. I knew he wouldn't let me have it. So I took it from the counter, and ran away with it. I thought no one followed me.
De Profundis is very hard to find, let alone to keep. Don't think you'll be safe because you downloaded it on the internet. Maybe the FBI can't catch you, but "they" will.
