My sister is dying of kidney failure due to aggressive onset diabeetus that boxed her kidneys. She's on dialysis twice weekly, and yesterday she went into a coma for nearly an hour in the hospital. She was already there due to complications during dialysis.

We're having a really hard time finding a kidney donor. The lists are long, and she's blood type O. Universal donor, but can only RECEIVE from another type O. Which means anyone can have a kidney from the only type of person she can get a kidney from. She's had one donor who was halfway through antigen testing when he had a seizure which made him ineligible to donate, and then another who got all the way through testing and then decided not to donate when he lost interest in dating her. It's been a long and frustrating ride. I am B+ so I can't donate. The only other living person in our family with type O is our mom, who has heart disease and has had like 5 heart attacks so she's not eligible either.

In short: What are some ways to try to find a compatible donor? So far all I can think of is:
- Classified ad in the local paper
- Fliers in town
- Craigslist, as dubious as that would be

You see, I come from a family of adventurers. Everyone in my family from previous generations has done something wild and exciting, from enlisting at 16 and being a sniper in WW2, running drugs across the border, or going halfway across the world to master a martial art. My family is a fount of both villainy and heroism, but more importantly they have all done something awesome.

Now, here I am, 20 years old (soon to be 21), and I have done fuck all. I'm not a badass mercenary, I'm not the toast of the town, I'm not a martial arts master, and I'm not some hot shot runner for a cartel. I am, however, the first member of my family to pursue an upper level education in a degree that will get me somewhere.

What should I do? I am feeling the strong urge to emulate previous generations because, relative to them, I fail. Then again, sticking to College is not a bad idea in the least, especially since I am making progress here and my career prospects look good in the long term. What should I do?
