Do any of you use padded straps? What about using a longer strap and wearing it over one shoulder?

I just wrap it around my wrist. If you really need your hands free though, a wider strap is the way to go.

N2O is sometimes injected into the fuel mix to temporarily give you more power. Many people have gotten the idea that N2O is flammable. Adding N2O gives you more power because it adds more oxygen. It's not flammable.

Hey there /p/. I've been hunting around at a few different intro DSLRs, and a few medium range cameras, and I think I want to put some dough down for one. I've been looking especially close at the D5000 and the D90. One thing I'm lost at though is what makes one better than the other? Can someone explain this to me in layman terms?

The D5000 is gimmicky beginner gear, the D90 is a littleolder, but still a very respectable camera.

I hope that makes your decision very simple.

They use the same sensor and will take comparable photos. I've heard anecdotally that the D90's metering is better but I haven't really noticed. You basically get a better build and autofocus with more lenses if you spend the extra for the D90, if that means enough to you.

Nothing. You can take the same pictures with either camera, the D90 just has some added features that make certain things easier.

The iFn is a pretty interesting idea, and at least it will take k and sr mount stuff, but I'd agree that the ffd seems unecessarily long. I actually like the ui a lot but given its limitations (lenses, poorer iq than nex) I just don't find the nx system compelling. And that flash with the nx100 is ugly as sin

a superzoom will never have a good IQ.
a zoom lens should not have a higher factor than 3, good lenses for low budget are i.e. the tamron 17-50 2.8 oder the 28-75 2.8. keep your hands off sigma, tamron are the best 3rd-party-lenses imho, tests second that.

kidding me? sigma glass is sharper than canon in a few cases.

50 1.4 - sigma is wayy sharper and doesn't use 37 year old technology like the canon.

24-70 2.8 - sigma is sharper than the L glass, cheaper, and smaller.

only place that sigma doesn't pass canon is in their telephoto stuff.

Don't know about that..I'm very wary of 3rd party but got a steal on a Sigma 300mm 2.8 and that shit is razor sharp, one of my sharpest lenses along with my Nikon 55mm Micro (sharpest lens Nikon makes) and 135mm DC (also one of the sharpest).
