This summer, my brother and I want to take a road trip. Our main mission is based on visiting interesting places, trying interesting foods. We're from New Jersey, and the only spot we have on our destination list is the Boise Fry Company (when we saw them mention "the Bourgeois", any of their fries fried in duck fat with truffle salt, we immediately knew we had to go there). I also know he's not willing to go clear across the country, so I'm going on the assumption that Boise's the furthest (farthest?) he's willing to travel. We don't know when we're going, as we want to finalize our destination list first and plan around that. So, where are you from, and do you have any must-visit places/dishes to recommend near you? Pic slightly related, it's what I'm feeling trying to come up with ideas on my own. Thanks in advance for help.

you can get fries fried in duck fat with truffle salt if you go only as far as Chicago to Hot Doug's. Make sure you bring truffle salt though because I don't think they have that there...

You might as well spend your entire trip in Brooklyn/Queens/Manhattan But seriously, go on your roadtrip, your near enough to NYC to go there anytime you want (or at least before the local sweet spots reduce in quality as time goes by) Falafel spots, Palestinian/Egyptian pushcart Halal food (which is much cleaner and better tasting than fancy schmancy spots like Sahara), authentic Greek diners, ____gyro spots, Thai food hole-in-the-walls etc etc... and these are all places we ate at as a poorfags in fucking highschool Maybe I'll make an extensive/detailed list for you co/ck/s one day...or even this day if time allows

any coo/ck/s /ck/amp? I've been hiking a lot, usually day hikes. I'm getting in to backpacking though and am currently planning a thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. Any unique food ideas/tips? Camp Stove advice? Especially for such a long trek? I need a light, reliable stove. So far I just have those mountain freeze dried meals, Jerky, etc. The typical fare. Just get an X-wing nigga, it's white I use Hasn't broke since I bought it in '94 (after all, why would such simple construction break or malfunction unless one is being stunningly retarded with it?) How much of the Appalacians are you doing? How many days/nights? Whats your metabolism like?

I'll usually just go off a recipe from a cooking show host's website rather than watch the whole show itself, but yeah, I have used a few of Alton Brown's Thanksgiving recipes, and I learned a damn good sandwich by Paula Deen, which I have provided in the wordsiest format possible, below. My reinterpretation of Paula Deen's Damn Good Sandwich (I can't remember her name for it, and I'm not looking it up. Fuck you.) For the record, this is about a 1 of 10 on the difficulty scale, but cooks new and old can all use an easy dish from time to time: 2 Pieces of Sourdough bread 3 Strips of thick, center-cut bacon (don't be cheap) 1 Granny Smith apple 2 Slices *mild* cheddar cheese (Mild works better with apple than sharp. Don't you question me.) Fry bacon first, drain and set aside. Clean pan. If you actually own more than one pan, congratulations, you are richer than most of /ck/, so have your butlers or mother cook the rest of your sandwich for you while you drink Frangelico. Turn on burner under pan to medium heat. Butter outsides of bread. If you are white trash, put mayonnaise on insides of bread. Core apple. Cut off top and bottom edges and horizontally slice off two or three discs of apple. Once pan is fully heated, place ingredients down per grilled cheese in following order:

You can make it yourself by getting a handful of dried chickpeas, dry roasting them and grinding them, but you want to buy it, besan/gram flour is the same thing.
It's great for a bunch of applications; anything that is fried and uses both egg and wheat flour can be replaced with just roasted chickpea powder.
