'Instagram's playboy king'

GLAMOUR: Mr Bilzerian is always seen in the company of beautiful women; And with the money he has, he can afford fancy cars too.

He is a multi-millionaire poker star and has been dubbed Instagram's playboy king.

Los Angeles-based Dan Bilzerian apparently knows how to enjoy life and how to spend lavishly - and that seems to have made fans of some netizens.

Mr Bilzerlan's pictures of himself partying with near-naked women, riding in supercars and posed with guns have racked up more than 125,000 followers on the social networking site.

The 32-year-old is reportedly worth about US$100 million most of it coming from high-stakes gambling after having developed his skills as a student at the University of South Florida.

The pictures and the well-documented over-the-top lifestyle have pleased the fans no end. They think of the money man as a king.

"I've seen a lot of people showing the good life on Instagram but you sir are king," a Bilzerian follower, danny_raf, commented on a recent post.

Mr Bilzerian's Instagram feed includes a recent picture of a seal and a topless blonde woman in a swimming pool, with the caption: "My buddy actually had a seal brought to the house and put in the pool haha."

Another photo shows two luxury cars in the garage of his Los Angeles mansion.

Another picture of more than a dozen semi-automatic weapons on a table has the caption: "My greatest fear is that someone will break in & I won't be able to decide what #gun to shoot them with."

The beefy, bearded Mr Bilzerian also does some acting on the side, The Daily Dot, an online newspaper which covers Internet topics, reported. He has three releases lined up for next year.

But his extravagant, machismo-fuelled lifestyle has resulted in a serious health problems, including two heart attacks (when he was 25) and a pulmonary embolism (blockage in the lung artery) two years ago, Mail Online reported.

WENT BROKE

It is not that he has been winning all the time. He went broke after the second year in college, gambling away all his money.

Said Mr Bilzerian: "I respected the money. You have to go broke to respect the money."

He has since won multiple tournaments, his most successful being the 2009 World Series of Poker. He is also co-founder of online poker room, Victory Poker.

In seemingly perfect heath, Mr Bilzerian continues to make mega-bucks and enjoy spending them. He also wants to clean up his bad boy image and is trying to reinvent himself as "the gentleman of poker".

His efforts include giving away US$100,000 for what he is calling the Robin Hood Project.

He has also helped some of the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines - a couple who adopted four sick, underprivileged children and a woman who lost all her limbs.

Key info stolen from US agencies

Boston/San Francisco - Activist hackers linked to Anonymous have secretly accessed US government computers in multiple agencies and stolen sensitive information in a campaign that began almost a year ago, the FBI has warned.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation described the attacks as "a widespread problem that should be addressed", in a memo seen by Reuters and distributed last Thursday.

The hackers exploited a flaw in Adobe Systems software to launch a rash of electronic break-ins that began last December, then left "back doors" to return to many of the machines as recently as last month, the memo said. It said the breach affected the US Army Department of Energy, Department of Health and Human Services, and perhaps many more agencies.

Investigators are still gathering information on the scope of the cyber campaign, which the authorities believe is continuing. The FBI document tells system administrators what to look for.

According to an internal e-mail from US Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz's chief of staff Kevin Knobloch, the stolen data included personal information on at least 104,000 employees, contractors, family members and others associated with Department of Energy, along with information on many bank accounts. The e-mail said officials were "very concerned" that loss of the banking information could lead to thieving attempts.

Officials said the hacking was linked to the case of Lauri Love, a British resident charged on Oct 28 for allegedly hacking into computers at the Department of Energy, Army, Department of Health and Human Services, the US Sentencing Commision and elsewhere.

[1382178406] The $10m Bra Girl

The $10m bra girl

Candice Swanepoel is latest model chosen to wear record-busting lingerie

Sexy, hot, floral, royal, heavenly.

These are some of the adjectives describing the Victoria's Secret annual "Fantasy Bra" creation.

It's still not known what they will officially call the latest US$10 million bra, which will be show when the lingerie brand's annual show hits the catwalk on Nov 13.

Coin a new term for it? Probably. For 24-year-old South African model Candice Swanepoel, who will be wrapping the jewel-encrusted bra around her busts, it would mean one thing: She has arrived.

Many models dream of this day. But only a few are chosen.

Swanepoel joins the ranks of other supermodels Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr and Alessandra Ambrósio, who were all picked to walk the catwalk wearing the multi-million-dollar bra.

Swanepoel, who is No. 10 on Forbes' list of the world's top-earning models this year, has got a serious one-up over last year's Fantasy Bra model Ambrósio.

Last year's bejewelled creation was worth an impressive US$2.5 million, but Swanepoel's is worth four times more, the Los Angeles Time reported.

For Swanepoel, though, what would be more nerve-racking? Showcasing cleavage in US$10 million of jewels on national TV, or following in the footsteps of other major supermodels? We will know that next month.

"They had to mould my body to be able to make (the bra) and I was really excited," Swanepoel told People magazine.

"I tried to imagine after they'd done the mould, how would they make it, how it would look. My imagination didn't do it justice.

My favourite part is this beautiful 52-carat pear-shaped ruby (which hangs from the middle of the bra). Every part of it is exquisite."

World-renowned jeweller Mouawad hand-set more than 4,200 precious stones (including rubies, diamonds and yellow sapphires) in 18-carat gold to create the royal fantasy bra and matching belt.

GLOVES ON

Said Swanepoel: "I've never worn anything this pricey and we have to put gloves on when we put it on. It's kind of a big ordeal. The bra comes with two bodyguards and we have to handle it with a lot of care!"

The supermodel said that although it wasn't hard for her to keep her big announcement under wraps ("I want it to be a big surprise!" she said), it will be hard to keep her cool when walking in the show.

News that she will be modelling the creation has been kept under wraps for months, so the fitting process had to be done under a veil of secrecy.

She said: "Definitely being the Fantasy Bra model is more nerve-racking... because it's a one-time thing. Walking around wearing US$10 million does seem to make me a little bit nervous."

Wearing the Fantasy Bra will no doubt take the South African up to another level.

After all, she has been on the cover of Victoria's Secret annual swim catalogue for three straight years from 2011.

[1385778793] Giant prehistoric toilet unearthed

No.21583 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
A gigantic "communal latrine" created at the dawn of the dinosaurs has been unearthed in Argentina.

Thousands of fossilised poos left by rhino-like megaherbivores were found clustered together, scientists say.

The 240-million-year-old site is the "world's oldest public toilet" and the first evidence that ancient reptiles shared collective dumping grounds.

The dung contains clues to prehistoric diet, disease and vegetation says a study in Scientific Reports.

[1307783959] News feeds?

No.18135 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Hey guys, I was just wondering what sort of news feeds you would all recommend?
I have basics such as

ABC,
BBC,
Reuters,
RT,
NYT,
Guardian,

But what do you guys pay attention to, and why?

I am also Australian, so if you have any good suggestions for local news here I would appreciate that.

I am quite skeptical and critical when it comes to news, although that does not mean I glance over it. I am open to all suggestions, but would appreciate reasoning for each.
