what is it called when a scientific theory gets accepted as truth (or as close as possible to.) I remember some numbers, like level 3 is when it's accepted or something. Anyone help?

I was reading OHCS, and it mentions on page 53 (3rd ed) that "Steroids...lead to irreversible changes in connective tissue". Does anyone know what changes and why? I had a quick google, and the links I opened seemed to go along the theme of muscle hypertrophies faster than the tendons, hence damage - but is this what OHCS is referring to?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I'm applying for medicine next year and we get 4 choices for which university to go to, and a fifth non-medicine choice. If I want to apply for medicine post-graduate, which of these would be the best degree to occupy my fifth choice? Immunology, Microbiology or Pharmacy/Pharmaceuticals.

It's common knowledge to everyone that acids, at least the lowest PH ones, are corrosive, as can be seen with HCL. People tend to know a lot about what acids do to the body.

But here is my question:

What do alkalis do?

Of course they neutralise acids, but I don't know what they do on their own, what they do to the human body, if they are dangerous at high PH levels etc... I think it's a wasp sting that is alkali? Or maybe a bee sting?
I've gone through secondary education answering chemistry questions on acids and alkalis, and gotten A's, but I have never actually known what they do on their own.
Can someone give me some info?

>Month one
Mommy, I am only 8 inches long
but I have all my organs.
I love the sound of your voice.
Every time I hear it
I wave my arms and legs.
The sound of your heart beat
is my favorite lullaby.

>Month Two
Mommy, today I learned how to suck my thumb.
If you could see me
you could definitely tell that I am a baby.
I'm not big enough to survive outside my home though.
It is so nice and warm in here.

>Month Three
You know what Mommy
I found out how to smile today!
I hope that makes you happy.
