This episode was fairly good. I wonder if it was just me being tired, or if a lot of the dialogue was actually unclear and drowned out. Some sentences seemed just impossible to work out.
The new companion is very original, and if you're infatuated with her, then I have some bad news for you: You're gay. Backed up by a lesbian couple, the new companion is extremely masculine. She's intelligent, rational, dominant and disciplined. It's not a bad thing storywise, but it does make the Rule 34 porn kind of icky.
When I say that the episode was fairly good, I kind of lied, because it's fairly good up to a certain point, after which it nosedives into "christmas miracle" territory, where human sorrow will just melt the baddies away. If you just completely ignore that bit, it's fine.
Also, judging by his new "desktop theme", The Doctor has "done away with childish things", and I'm hoping that he'll stay away from Peter Pan territory with Pond gone.
There are some logical gaps in this episode, like why there was only a single blueprint, and so on, but this episode contained more rationale than I had hoped for, so I'm good. ...or possibly just too tired to think about it.
