Hey /trv/ going to South Korea February next year with my eldest sister, her boyfriend and some other people she knows. Anyway, we plan to go skiing. That's all I know so far. Are there any essential places to visit, things to do? We're in the early early stages of planning the itinerary and I just thought I'd ask.

Hey Travel, First time poster.

I have got a job out in china as a programmer for a games studio out there.

Ill be moving out in July and I wanted to ask a few questions. I am ok with localization, my wife is out in China and I can speak the lingo. I want to know;
Can I play on Euro Starcraft servers, Should I bring my PC or buy one out there, Can I log onto 4chan? ( I have a VPN set up so I can get on with a proxy if push comes to shove).

I have eleven hours to kill on schiphol from around 10 in the morning the 30th.

Should I take the bus or the train, and what should I do in amsterdam? Id love to just do some street photography and get a few beers. Any tips on good streets for this?

Thanks.

China /trv/lers, I need you.

I'm very interested in moving to China to study Mandarin but... I don't want to deal with the pollution. I've been in Taipei for almost 2 years now and I've had enough of the terrible air pollution, the constant dark grime that forms on all the buildings (even the recently built ones), and the depressing lack of sunlight/decent weather.

Are there any major Chinese cities that have decent weather (sunny days, not a furnace, etc.) and don't look like polluted third world shitholes? Or does that pretty much limit me to rural living?

tl;dr: Recommend some beautiful Chinese cities

hello /trv/
I am a 19 year old male from the USA. This June, me and my best friend will be going on a 10 day trip to Japan. We will be primarily in Tokyo, and have 2 nights booked in Osaka (hostels). We have never traveled alone, or been out of the country so we are very very excited! Anyway, the point of this post is to see if anyone has ever been to Tokyo/Osaka and could tell us what some cool things to see and do are. Some things we want to do are see Akihabara and the arcades there, try our all sorts of japanese cuisine and drink, see how the night life in Tokyo is, see Harajuku, visit a geisha tea house, visit some kinds of shrines or temples, visit the "pokemon center"... we've got a lot of random stuff. Can anyone recommend some awesome things to do that aren't really "touristy"? I'd like to try to talk to some Japanese youth around my age while I am there to, I think it will be interesting.

I want an objective opinion of what it's like living in Japan, preferably from someone who spent at least 6 months there. Pros, Cons, worst/best moments, favorite/least favorite things... etc. Anyone have an experience to share?

Pic might be related

Hi there. I've collected a good amount of money and I want to travel to some places. I want to try couchsurfing, has anyone ever done it? What are your experiences with it? This is my plan:
1)Go to Oslo (last days of May) and stay there for 4 days.
2)Go to Tallinn from Oslo and stay 3 days there.
3)Go to Milan from Tallinn stay there for some days and then return home, maybe from Rome.

Has anyone ever visited some of these places? I don't want any information on Rome. Just need some information on Tallinn and Milan.
Thanks
