I'd like to talk about Chaos.

I've been searching for a next-best-thing to Hero Quest, when I came across Descent. I really want to buy this now, provided that I can get 2-4 of my friends to play it with me. I want to try and save as much money as I can, though, so where is the cheapest place to buy it? I'm not too keen on dropping $89.95 plus shipping on the official Fantasy Flight Games website.

I found a place called BoardGameHaus.com that sells the core game for $30 cheaper than regular list price, and it comes out to about $73 after shipping. Is this my best option, or do you know of anywhere else with a better steal? I first turned to TrollAndToad.com, but they are currently out of stock.

You people like Warhammer 40000, right?

Well, can you explain its appeal to me? I happen to know some people who buy every single Warhammer 40000 book and have lots of Warhammer 40000 miniatures, because it's a wargame, but that's where my knowledge ends. Friend of mine conviced me to try reading some of the books, but it was really meh for me as I preffer more let's say more "brainy" science fiction such as anything writen by Lem. The game itself isn't bad, but not really for me as my attention span tends to be terribly short. The art is actualy something I enjoy, I even hunted some John Blanche's art.

What I have problem with is the world. It is so silly it can't be taken seriously. I mean undead robots fighting space orcs fighting space nazi crusaders fighting aliens, what the hell, that isn't even cool, it's just bunch of cultural icons that are generaly considered cool taken together because people thing that would make it supercool, yet it fail for me as every single of them loses it's coolness when taken out of its context put together with other bullcrap. It might be fine if it was parody of stupid scifi/fantasy settings such as Star Wars, yet it takes itself seriously, but on in over the top SRS BSNS way. I just don't see how anyone can enjoy something so retarded

Hello fellow fa/tg/uys.

I plan on writing a book for my players to find and read. But I want to make it a bit more classy than just handle them a scrap of paper.
I want to make a real mini-book with A5 pages made by a couple of A4's stapled together down the middle. But I have no idea what to do or how to approach this. Is there a program or method I can use which takes this into consideration? I guess that just printing one A4 with the text in two separate A5 columns would suffice. Then just cut them out at glue them into the pre-stapled book. But then again, how can I make open office do that?

Help? Ideas? Suggestions?
